August 21, 2008 - 7:58pm — Shamir SiamCoenzyme Q10 is a chemical which is very similar in structure to the known water soluble vitamins. It is also known as ubiquinone or ubidecarenone. Coenzyme Q is often abbreviated to CoQ10.
CoQ10 is present in nature and in human tissues in a wide range of concentrations. What exactly CoQ10 does is not known, but there is some evidence that it may play a role in the generation of energy production. And because it is known to generate energy, it has been found in high concentrations in organs where energy generation is a must- like the liver, brain, heart and lungs.
